Listen to your textbook, with the text highlighted as it reads
oosync turns your readings into narrated chapters you can play on the way to class, and a read-along reader that highlights each sentence as it is spoken. Start from any line, mark what you have heard, and pick up where you left off.
How it works
- Add a PDF, slides, Word file or EPUB to a module.
- oosync splits it into chapters by its headings and prepares the audio.
- Press play: the reader highlights along as it reads, or listen screen-off.
- Tap any sentence to play from there; highlight a line to save it or make it a flashcard.
What you get
Chapters, not one long file
Audio follows the structure of the material, so you can listen to one section between lectures.
Read-along highlighting
Seeing and hearing the same sentence keeps your attention on dense text.
Play from here
Start at any sentence, including a highlight you saved earlier.
Progress that remembers
Heard chapters are marked, and the next one is ready when you come back.
How to study by listening (and when not to)
- Use listening for a first pass and for review on the move: it gets you through the reading.
- Pause after each section and say the main point out loud. Listening alone is passive; recalling makes it stick.
- For maths, diagrams and formulas, read on screen: some content needs eyes.
- Pair it with flashcards or a short quiz the same day.
Listening is a great way to get through readings, but on its own it is weaker than testing yourself, so oosync pairs it with recall questions and flashcards.
Questions
Can I listen to a PDF with the words highlighted?
Yes. The read-along reader highlights each sentence as it is read aloud, and you can start from any sentence.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
It works with PDFs that contain text. A scan that is only an image of the page has no text to read aloud.
Is it free?
Yes. oosync is free to use within daily limits: 2 modules with up to 3 of your own materials each, files up to 60 MB, and daily allowances for AI features.
