Flashcards from your own lecture slides, scheduled for you
oosync writes flashcards from the material you are actually examined on: question-and-answer and fill-the-gap (cloze) cards, then schedules them with spaced repetition so each card comes back just before you would forget it.
How it works
- Add your slides, PDF or notes to a module.
- Generate cards from a material or a section, or make your own from any highlight.
- Review the cards that are due; rate each one and the schedule adapts.
- Edit, suspend or export the deck to Anki whenever you like.
What you get
Cards from your course
Generated from your own slides and readings, not a generic deck.
Two card types
Question-and-answer and cloze cards, with checks that drop trivial or yes/no cards.
Spaced repetition
An Anki-style scheduler shows what is due today, with learn-ahead when you have time.
Anki export
Take your deck with you as an Anki-ready file.
What makes a good flashcard
- One idea per card. If the answer is a paragraph, split it.
- Ask "why" and "how", not only "what": definitions are the easy part of the exam.
- Rewrite any generated card that you could answer without understanding it.
- Review a little every day rather than a lot the night before.
Generated cards are a starting point. Edit or delete any card that does not test what your lecturer will ask.
